‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 8 reaction: Did Connor Hawke appear in ‘Legends of Today’?

Arrow -The name Connor Hawke is one that is very familiar to most longtime fans of the DC Comics universe. He is the son of Oliver Queen, and in the source material goes on to become the second Green Arrow.

So is there a lot of subject matter for “Arrow” and “The Flash” to mine from this? Certainly, but it appears as though we are going in a different direction with this story following Oliver seeing his son for the first time in Central City. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in a postmortem for the first part of the crossover, showrunner Andrew Kreisberg reiterates (he has briefly commented on it before) that the kid in this show is not Connor, and that this person may show up somewhere in the future:

“When we came up with the whole idea of it, we didn’t want to be tied into a character like Connor, and not be able to have him be a part of the show if we made him so young … To give us the leeway to still have Connor Hawke be a part of the universe, that was the biggest reason we made that decision.”

Now that Oliver knows that this child is out there, he is going to have a hard time letting this out of his mind. Sure, it’s possible in theory that this kid is not his, but he’s got to be at least curious enough to put two and two together in the timeline. From there, he will be able to make the realization that it is somewhat likely the child is his.
