NBC’s ‘The Voice’ song spoilers: What Madi Davis, Jordan Smith, Barrett Baber will perform

VoiceMonday night’s new episode of “The Voice” features the remaining ten artists tackling a variety of differet performances, and we’re sure that they will in the end be somewhat of a mixed bag. Some are creative, some are fun, and then some are strange, dreary, and downright depressing. Luckily, only one of them is of a song so overdone that we never want to hear it on TV ever again.

We don’t want to waste any more time since tonight’s show is almost here. Take a look at the choices!

Madi Davis, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” (Team Pharrell) – We wish that this was a more upbeat version of the song, or at least one that was midtempo. We’ve never loved the slower rearrangement, and there are some serious dirges going on with the songs this week.

Jordan Smith, “Hallelujah” (Team Adam) – Does Adam have a requirement for Jordan to do one huge, drippy ballad one right after the next? He’s a tremendous singer, but there is an element of sameness that comes with doing ballads every week. To think, we used to really like this song; now, it firmly belongs in the BOOK OF SINGING SHOW SONGS THAT SHALL BE BURNED FOREVER.

Jeffery Austin, “Jealous” (Team Gwen) – We’re a little annoyed at Jeffery doing another slow song, as well; the only thing that differentiates him from Jordan is that this is at least a current hit that has yet to really gain notoriety in America. Go listen to Josh Daniel’s version from “The X Factor” if you want a template.

Korin Bukowski, “Same Old Love” (Team Gwen) – Maybe a smart move to appeal to Selena Gomez fans. She’s just going to need a radical arrangement to make this somehow sound different than the original.

Amy Vachal, “Bye Bye Bye” (Team Adam) – Apparently, this is happening. The funny thing is that while this sounds like an extremely cheesy idea in theory, we can actually envision it being a rather cool performance in practice. We’re looking forward to seeing what Amy eventually ends up bringing to the song!

Shelby Brown, “Go Rest High on that Mountain” (Team Adam) – This is Adam doing a smart thing here in really pointing Shelby towards the religious voters with this song, which is something that Jordan already did effectively this season.

Braiden Sunshine, “Radioactive” (Team Gwen) – No. That’s it.

Zach Seabaugh, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” (Team Blake) – Hey, it’s not country! Then again, it’s not that far off. This Queen song sounds a lot like Elvis, and Zach has already had those comparisons.

Barrett Baber, “I’d Just Love to Lay You Down” (Team Blake) – Another solid choice, but Barrett’s lack of a genuine moment is causing him to slip somewhat down the leaderboard.

Emily Ann Roberts, “She’s Got You” (Team Blake) – Smart move to not experiment much with Emily, and just give her hardcore country songs. She hasn’t gone wrong with them yet.
