Can ‘Into the Badlands’ get a season 2, or many more beyond that?

We’ve made it clear now on a few separate occasions that we feel for “Into the Badlands,” given that it is a very good show that it is being in many ways burdened at present with backlash from “Walking Dead” fans. There are few shows that are doing what it is in present compelling action and martial arts, and we hope that it gets a chance to shine for quite some time moving forward.

The next episode is really going to be the biggest test for the series yet, given that it is going to air without the zombie drama around. We anticipate lower ratings, but we hope that they are at least relatively steady enough for AMC to consider a second season. It’s a show that really could use another chance, and the network could use a show that is not tied into another franchise.

One thing we do know is that all parties involved on the show would love to see it continue. Speaking to Digital Spy in a new interview, actor / executive producer Daniel Wu makes it clear just how much more potential he could see the show having:

”If this show’s successful, it can go for five or six years … and the amount of fighting that we’re doing is very over the top – even in movies, I don’t think people do this much fighting.

“Sunny for example, he’s in in 11 of the 12 major fights that there are in the whole series. That’s 11 fight scenes in four months. I don’t even think Jackie Chan or Jet Li or has done that.”

With that in mind, let’s just hope that we see more fighting in the future!
