‘Supergirl’ episode 6 video: Kara stands up to Cat Grant

At some point or another, you knew that a confrontation between Kara and Cat was coming on “Supergirl,” and it just so happens to be in Monday night’s new episode “Red Faced.”

The video below features a confrontation where Kara finally makes it clear just how tired she is of her boss belittling her and treating her like she is next-to-nothing. We happen to agree with this, mostly because we would love to see Cat become something more than just Meryl Streep from “The Devil Wears Prada.” The sooner that we can break down that tough exterior and learn more about her other than her son, the better. They’ve already shared a few moments of vulnerability here and there, most notably during the “Livewire” episode.

After this blowup, Cat basically tells Kara to forward the phones, and they are now heading towards an unknown destination. For Kara at this point, any destination that does not end up with her being fired is probably one that she would both celebrate and embrace, and for good reason. In real life this sort of outburst probably would be accompanied with a quick kick out the door, really without any further questions being asked.

This episode marks almost the halfway point in the show’s first season, or at least it will if CBS opts to not order a back nine episodes. They still haven’t made up their mind on this, so the show does need to establish further growth for Cat and Kara if episode 13 really is the end for season 1.
