‘The X Factor’ UK finale will feature Coldplay, One Direction

We may still be weeks away from the final episode of “The X Factor” this season, but that is apparently not stopping any of the announcements from coming out regarding some of the people who are going to be appearing.

According to a new report from the Mirror, One Direction and Coldplay are going to be gracing the big stage at the end of the season. Is this even remotely a surprise? Far from it when you stop to think about the fact that both have something to promote, and then you can of course add to this the fact that they have both performed on the show before. One Direction in particular are frequent guests, but can you really be surprised given that this is where they got their start? Also, their ties to Simon Cowell continue to run deep as a four-piece.

Given the plans for One Direction to take a little bit of a break next year, this could be a rare chance for many to see the group rock out one last time before they spend a little bit of time away. (Of course, there’ll be plenty of other chances out there, as well.)

The report also says that the show is looking for duet partners already for the final, with Adele understandably being at the top of the list. We could see her doing something with an act like Che Chesterman, but not everyone remaining really suits her style of music.
