‘Chicago Med’ episode 3 preview: Dr. Rhodes confronts his past

It’s pretty easy to look forward to next week’s new episode of “Chicago Med.” Why is that? It starts with the fact that you are going to have more of a spotlight on Colin Donnell, and we’re always thrilled with that. We’ve held a soft spot for him ever since Tommy died on “Arrow” … spoiler alert for people who are more than two seasons behind on that show.

Anyhow, this “Chicago Med” episode will take some surprising turns as you start to see more of his family, and you also find out that his time in university is certainly a little checkered. Is his father out to ruin his career? The promo below certainly does not shy away from making you at least as the question. Meanwhile, the synopsis offers up a few more details all about what you can expect:

“When Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) takes the case of a close family friend who’s been impaled by glass shards, he’s reunited with his sister, Claire Rhodes (guest start Christina Brucato), and forced to confront his past. Meanwhile, Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) convinces a young musician to undergo a surgery that will save her life but could destroy her hearing.”

We’re curious to see how the second episode fares in the ratings (which will be announced tomorrow), given that we feel like the premiere blew some people away out there with the numbers that it managed to pull in. We’ll just have to wait and see if it can keep that level of consistency going moving forward.
