Is ‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 8 new tonight on The CW? New crossover photo

There is a lot to look forward to on “The Flash” right now, whether it be the fight between Barry and Zoom, the rise of Vibe, Jay Garrick and all of the other Earth-2 arrivals, and of course the upcoming crossover with “Arrow.” The latter is the focus of the next new episode “Legends of Today,” but unfortunately you are not going to be seeing it on Tuesday night.

With this being Thanksgiving week, The CW understandably decided that they are going to be better off saving some of their top-rated entertainment for December, and this episode will therefore premiere on the 1st. It is the first of a two-episode event, and the photo above showcases Grant Gustin and Barry Allen in costume, clearly preparing for a variety of crazy events to come. You are going to see several characters from the upcoming “Legends of Tomorrow” featured in here, whether it be Hawkman, Hawkgirl a.k.a. Kendra Saunders (who we’ve already met), or the Big Bad in Vandal Savage. He will be making his big debut in here.

It was just announced that “Legends” will be premiering come Thursday, January 21 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, which means that in the new year you could technically have four DC Comics superhero shows in four days when you consider “Supergirl” on CBS Monday nights. That’s a lot of programming! Hopefully it all remains entertaining, and does not saturate the market in the process.

The last thing that we’ll say about this crossover for now is that we like how the show is focusing heavily on one singular story over the course of both “The Flash” and “Arrow.” Unlike last year, you really need to watch both to understand what is going on.
