‘The X Factor’ UK results: Were Mason Noise, Anton Stephens eliminated?

Tonight, “The X Factor” results show brought plenty of drama, but not much surprise by the time the eliminated contestant was finally announced. You could say that this is ultimately a decision everyone saw coming: The end of Mason Noise.

What Mason brought to the competition was charisma, confidence, and also genuine dance ability. What he lacked was vulnerability, and we don’t think in the eyes of the public he ever fully recovered from the incident at the Six Chair Challenge where he and Simon Cowell got into a verbal back-and-forth that led to him being eliminated for a time. He was never going to win this season.

There is yet another batch of results coming up on Sunday, and at the moment, we feel like the person in the most jeopardy is probably none other than Anton Stephans. While he is talented, his song choices are fairly lifeless and Nick Grimshaw really bit into him with his criticism, questioning his authenticity on stage.

So who else could be in danger? It’s hard to really imagine anything other than maybe a shock Che Chesterman / Lauren Murray boot. We assume that 4th Impact is safe, but their support base is so hard to read because a good chunk of their internet traffic and attention is coming outside of the United Kingdom. We feel like Louisa Johnson and Reggie ‘n Bollie, on the strength of finishing out the show this weekend, are probably going to be in good shape for a little while.
