Is Charlie Sheen looking to get back into sitcom game after HIV Positive announcement?

The latest -

Charlie Sheen’s appearance on “The Today Show” Tuesday generated a ton of viewers for NBC, and a whole lot of attention for the actor, as well. While there have been many who have sympathized with Sheen and his announcement that he is HIV Positive, there have also been many who have already reportedly threatened or planned lawsuits, claiming that they were with him over the past several years without being told in advance of his diagnosis. (This is something that Charlie refuted on “Today,” saying that he had paid out millions in hush money already to people planning to expose him.)

Given that Sheen said that his financial situation was not the best on the show, and that it could be even worse after all of these lawsuits, is a potential return for him to TV in order? According to Deadline, the actor has sat down with both CBS TV and Sony Pictures TV about doing potential series, but nothing came out of these meetings at this time. That could change in the future, but nothing is currently set in stone.

We know that the temptation for Charlie would be to probably be a lead at this point, but why not try something different? When you look back at some of his earlier credits, they showed more of his range. We’d like to see him return to that and maybe do a recurring role on another show, or a few guest gigs here and there. At this point, he has to sell himself as someone networks want, and really for a variety of reasons not related to him having HIV.

We will continue to monitor this story, so stay tuned for if anything changes.
