‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3, episode 8 preview: Coulson’s orders on the ATCU

Coulson -Sometimes, Coulson being awesome comes when he is kicking butt and taking times. On this particular episode of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” airing Tuesday night, he is being awesome simply by standing in one place and handing out orders.

In the sneak peek below, you can see Clark Gregg’s character introduce what he is calling Operation Spotlight, a new initiative designed with one primary purpose in mind: Making sure that he and the team understand what the ATCU is really up to using the arrival of Andrew to their facility. As Coulson puts it, he feels like the head of their group (i.e. Rosalind) finally trusts him, and he would like to feel a similar sort of way towards her.

Ultimately, we feel like this preview is setting the stage for some interesting, exciting, and in many ways mysterious things to come up regarding the group and its intentions. We don’t actually know just yet whether or not Rosalind is aware of Gideon Malick’s ties to Hydra, though it does seem clear that she is being less-than-upfront with Phil.

Even within the context of this sneak peek, not everything is clear. For example, we’re not sure where in the timeline of this episode this fits. It feels for us almost like it is happening before everyone starts to be fully aware of just what Rosalind could be up to. We will have some other news on Tuesday night, and that includes a full review of the episode. Stay tuned!
