‘Shark Tank’ preview: Unshrinkit, GripClean, PolarPro, AfreSHeet; Daymond John honored

Shark Tank -Friday night’s new episode of “Shark Tank” is a little different than others tat we’ve seen in recent weeks that have been, at least for the most part, commodity-based. Three out of the four items pitched this time around have at least some sort of practical use and are attempting to solve a problem; the other is trying to just enhance something great that you may already have. We’re not sure we envision all of them getting an investment, but there are also none that look to be on the surface duds.

We’re back with a relatively normal lineup of Sharks for this episode, with Daymond John on the panel and Barbara Corcoran sitting this one out. Check out the full synopsis right away:

“In this special episode, “Shark Tank” features all millennial entrepreneurs. A man from New York City hopes to win over the Sharks with a product he believes is essential in every college dorm room; two Harvard grads have developed a special formula to transform shrunken sweaters back to their original sizes and a surfer dude from Newport Beach, California surprises the Sharks with a lucrative proposition. Also, the Sharks are invited to The White House to meet President Barack Obama and Daymond John is honored with a Presidential Ambassadorship.”

Ready for the individual spotlights?

AfreSHeet – We don’t get the stylized name, but we do understand the product: A sheet that basically has peel-back layers. Basically, if you barf on your sheet or spill something, you can just peel back another layer to reveal (you guessed it) a fresh sheet. It’s a novel idea that could save college students laundry time, or at least given them a clean sheet that’s not as nasty. We’re just not sure in some situations if people would prefer this versus washing their sheet outright, or if consumers are really thinking of the idea while sheet-shopping.

GripClean – They claim to be the world’s first all-natural industrial hand soap, and there is literally dirt in the product itself to act as a natural exfoliant. We’re interested in seeing the pitch on this one, since it feels like there could be an application for it that is rather useful. However, getting people on board with soap that contains dirt could be a challenge.

PolarPro – The company sells a wide array of GoPro accessories and filters, and it’s hard to think of necessarily anything negative to say about what they do. The photos that the company has shown off look rather beautiful, and their website is put together so well that we would not even know that they are a company that is appearing on this show. Suffice it to say, the needle is pointing up on them entering Friday’s episode.

Unshrinkit – If the pitch goes well and their financials are in order, this has “Lori Greiner investment” written all over it. It’s a patent-pending mixture that, if you follow the directions, can actually restore a beloved wool sweater back to its original size. It’s an interesting concept, and we feel like getting this stuff is probably a lot cheaper than having to go out and buy new sweaters.
