NBC’s ‘The Voice’ coaches Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani officially dating

VoiceMrs. Carter: It looks like there is actually some romance taking place in “The Voice” family!

While there have been rumors for a couple of weeks now about a possible romance brewing between Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, today it was finally confirmed courtesy of a brief statement that the “Hella Good” singer’s rep passed along to Us Weekly: Gwen and Blake are longtime friends who have very recently started dating.”

The timing of the announcement is rather interesting, given that Blake is making a public appearance tonight courtesy of the CMA Awards, and as a result of that he is probably going to be asked a wide variety of questions when it comes to his relationship after it wraps up. Also, the very first live show is taking place on Monday night, and it would be crazy to think that the relationship would not be address. This is somewhat unprecedented territory when it comes to a panel on a singing show. For the most part, we don’t see relationships between the people who are evaluating talent. Typically, you’re lucky to see the significant other come forward in some sort of mentoring capacity.

If we hear more on the relationship, we will let you know. For now, all we can say is that this is very new, and it may take a little bit of time before the two talk about it at length beyond a joke or two. Blake’s tendency to goof off about his personal life is fairly well-documented.
