‘Shiptober: On ‘American Horror Story: Hotel,’ and Lady Gaga’s The Countess
Mrs. Carter: We’ve officially come to the end of ‘Shiptober, so why not end with a show appropriate for Halloween?
We’re talking today about “American Horror Story: Hotel,” and also about some characters you may be admittedly still trying to get to know a little bit. Therefore, we wanted to put this one at the end of the month to give us the best opportunity to talk about them. The thing here is that we’re not sure that Lady Gaga’s character of The Countess is fully capable of love in the traditional sense. She has taken many partners, and many of them she has used for some other personal gain.
Still, we want to look at three primary “suitors” for her at the moment, and discuss maybe what they are adding to her life. Remember to vote for who you want to see her with below!
Donovan – Matt Bomer’s character is probably the best match for her in that she seemed to have a rather lengthy history from him, and she seemed to actually help him in some ways with the blood virus. While he may be incredibly selfish, we do know that there is a heart in there somewhere. In seeing her with Donovan or with working with Ramona, maybe he will start to realize that a real relationship is worth fighting for.
Tristan – This is one of the flavors of the month, and we hope that Finn Wittrock gets a real chance to shine in this role moving forward. We know that he sees something in the Countess much as she does him, but the chips haven’t been down enough for the two to show what they mean to one another just yet. The jury’s still out on this one.
Ramona – If Ramona cares enough to forge some sort of revenge-scenario on the Countess, doesn’t that have to count for something? We know that the two had a deep love, and clearly she felt as though there would have been something long-lasting for her to be so upset. We do think that there is a relationship here that is still salvageable, though, mostly because the Countess has surely done so many terrible things that she can overlook the choices made by others.
