‘The Bachelor’ (with Ben Higgins) is returning to the Rose Parade

Bachelor -

The following bit of news should not surprise anyone out there at all: “The Bachelor” is returning to the Rose Parade. The show has become synonymous with roses, in addition to a wide array of other things such as ridiculous drama and Chris Harrison questioning whether or not people are able to tell when the Rose Ceremony is almost over. (We kid … sort of.)

The image above (per Yahoo! TV) is of the float for the parade, which seems about as completely over-the-top as you would expect for it to be given what we are talking about here. Ben Higgins will also be present at the event to greet various members of the crowd, and apparently, his throne is going to be a rather ridiculous lifeguard stand because the show apparently wants for him to be the star of an eighties teen comedy more so than a leading man for this show.

Below is the official description for apparently what this float will be:

“This time, fan favorite Ben Higgins, who will search for love when the 20th season of “The Bachelor” premieres in January 2016, will take the spotlight, sitting on a lifeguard stand surrounded by spectacular visions of crashing floral waves, lush white sand beaches, floral-perfume trade winds and swaying palm trees — the perfect fantasy adventure setting for “The Bachelor.” An actual working hot tub, one of the quintessential Bachelor symbols — complete with heated water — is at the front of the float. Dolphins bob up and down as they surf in the floral waves with intricately decorated sea-life completing the ocean setting. A stylized glowing sun is the backdrop for the 55-foot long by 22-foot high float. A magnificent treasure chest, cascading with red roses, holds the custom-designed wedding rings. Carved tiki figures, sculptured Cattleya orchids and colorful yellow hibiscus frame this phenomenal tropical setting.”

The new season of “The Bachelor” will premiere in proper in early January; meanwhile, the Rose Parade takes place on New Year’s Day.
