‘Switched at Birth’ season 5: Premiere date speculation, questions for Vanessa Marano – Katie Leclerc series

Switched at Birth -Monday night marks the last episode of “Switched at Birth” that you are unfortunately going to get a chance to see for some time. While the show was renewed for a fifth season, there is no official word yet on when it will air.

Traditionally, ABC Family (which will become Freeform early next year) has a good history of making their shows premiere around the same time. Most of them air in batches in both January and then June. However, “Switched at Birth” changed things up by having the second half of season 4 air later in the summer than expected, and that has us wondering whether or not we could see a spring premiere for the show, when there is more of an opening in the schedule.

As for how much the Vanessa Marano – Katie Leclerc series has left in the tank, we really cannot say for now. We worried that it was going to be over when high school was, but the show has figured out a great way to transition into another phase with the main characters chasing their dreams while facing the difficult struggles of life. It could theoretically continue to morph and evolve, and we could see it lasting as long as the cast and the network want it to. Ratings of course will play a key factor in that.

After the finale airs, hopefully we will have a better idea as to the direction that season 5 of the show will most-likely take.
