‘The X Factor’ UK review: Josh Daniel, Mason Noise, Seann Miley Moore vie for spot in live shows

Nick -

Tomorrow night’s edition of “The X Factor” is going to focus on Rita Ora and the Girls, and with that, we closed the edition on Saturday with Nick Grimshaw and his category the Boys. There are some immensely talented people in here, but the real wild card is seeing how Mason Noise is going to fare now that he is back on the show. He had a different attitude for sure going into his performance, but his reputation could make him a hard person for Nick to go with into the live shows.

Let’s go ahead and dive into our take on some of the guys competing to make it to the next round.

Seann Miley Moore – We knew that he had the fire that someone needs to make it to the next round, but this performance was still on another level. We weren’t sure he could find a way to step it up, but he did!

Simon Lynch – This was certainly a mixed bag. Simon has the look and the style you want from a finalist on this show, but we’re not sure that this was vocally right for him. There were major tuning issues, and you can see how nervous he was.

Mason Noise – Yep, he’s still super-confident in himself. The song choice proved that. The reality is that his vocal affectations aside, Mason can really sing. His challenge comes via not knowing whether or not Britain would ever get behind a guy who so openly slammed the show.

Che Chesterman – Che is amazing. He’s one of the best singers of the season beyond a shadow of a doubt, but is the charisma there? Does he have a real shot of carrying this through to the live shows? This is what we’re still a little bit unsure about.

Ben Clark – We feel for Ben, since it feels a little like he is the forgotten man of this category. He’s very good, but a lack of airtime and a great-but-not-amazing performance makes him probably the least likely to advance.

Josh Daniel – Tonight felt a little like Josh chasing after the greatness that he had with “Jealous,” but we do still love his voice. Also, we love that jacket he was wearing! Easily the best style and presentation of any man in the competition right now.

Results – Alas, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow for those!
