TV Quick Hits: ‘The X-Files’ omissions; ‘Back to the Future’ reunion; Bernie Sanders does Larry David

X Files -Who is not returning to “The X-Files“? – The Fox series is coming on January 24, and apparently, there was potential for it to be even more of a reunion than it ended up being.

According to TVLine, both Robert Patrick and James Pickens Jr. were both considered for returns, but potentially were not able to due to scheduling. The two are regulars respectively on “Scorpion” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” and given that these shows do not film anywhere close to where the sci-fi hit does in Vancouver, that makes matters a little bit more difficult. Executive producers Frank Spotnitz and Vince Gilligan were also not able to return, but that shouldn’t be as much of a surprise given their other projects.

“Back to the Future” reunion – Given that yesterday was a hugely significant day for those of you who enjoy the cult classic film, we’re glad that Marty McFly and Doc Brown were able to show up (in character, no less) to “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in Brooklyn this week! The ends results in the video below are both nostalgic and glorious.

Bernie Sanders does Larry David – Just in case this wasn’t enough for you, Kimmel also had the Presidential candidate on his show this week, who took advantage of the opportunity to do an impersonation of Larry that was almost as good as Larry doing an impersonation of him on this past edition of “Saturday Night Live.”

We still hope that this leads to some sort of recurring gig for Larry on the late-night show, though we’re not sure that will happen. Much of it probably depends on how long Sanders stays important in the race.
