‘The X Factor’ UK preview: Menn on Point bring the energy at Six-Chair Challenge

Menn on Point at the moment may be one of the most fascinating acts that is competing during the Six Chair Challenge stage of “The X Factor” UK. If you are looking at this performance from a sheer standpoint of singing, you cannot say that they are even close to some of the other acts this season. They don’t hit big notes, and at times their performance seems to take preference over the vocals. (Actually, that’s a lot of the time!)

However, at the same time these two guys are fun, they probably kill it in the studio, and are one of the few acts who seem to understand that this is about so much more than just going on stage and singing the same songs as everyone else.

In the video below (the next episode airs Sunday), you can see them first and foremost make a smart song choice in “Cheerleader.” This has been pegged by many as the “song of the summer,” and it further helps to establish the two of them as current. Also, their excitement is infectious. Other than Simon Cowell (who is not really programmed to smile), everyone else on the judging panel seems to be enjoying it.

The important thing to remember here ultimately is that while Simon may like to act like his opinion matters more than anyone else, the reality is that it doesn’t. Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini is the one who will be making the tough decisions for this category going into Judges’ Houses, and if she feels like these guys really are on point (yes, this was too obvious to avoid), she will send them through to the next round.
