ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5, episode 4 preview: Kerry Washington, cast sift through the aftermath

“Scandal” Thursday night was an episode that was fascinating in some ways, but also infuriating in others given the sole fact that we spent a heck of a lot of time trying to come to grips with the fact that Mellie and Fitz are continuing their facade of a relationship for a while longer, mostly because he realized that there was no real way to give in to some of her demands.

So what’s next? Is there a way to get excited about the future of the show again, if you were bummed out about tonight? Our suggestion for now is that you check out the synopsis for “Dog-Whistle Politics” below:

“Eager to get answers, Jake unexpectedly crosses paths with someone he thought he’d never see again. Meanwhile, Huck and Quinn recruit a familiar face to help smooth over the media storm surrounding Olivia, and Fitz quickly finds out the true cost of mercy when he discovers not everyone fully supports his actions.”

The promo below is a great indicator as to some of the aftermath from the craziness tonight, which is going to be all about a variety of new things. For example, you are going to get a chance to see more of what happens when Mellie decides to plot her next move, and how Olivia is going to handle having much of her reputation destroyed. This was her move, but it is still a difficult one.
