‘Faking It’ season 2, episode 17 preview: Prom problems

At the end of Monday night’s “Faking It” episode, we started to get the sense from Amy that some of her feelings for Karma were coming back … and she didn’t really want to process or explore them. We know that many fans may want her to, but in her head, there is no real reason to try. She thinks that Karma is completely not into the idea, and needs to therefore find a way to fall out of love to keep the friendship safe.

It is for this reason that you see her have a particular reaction in the promo for next week’s new episode: Concern. After all, it is announced that prom is coming to Hester High School, and thanks to a new order by Lauren (who is still in charge of running the show at the school), everyone is required to bring a date.

Here is the problem: Karma doesn’t have a date, and therefore suggests that she and Amy go together. Maybe she is thinking about making the invite innocently, but Amy knows that this could be a danger zone for her. This is why she considers asking Felix to go with her, since that at least spares her of some of that awkwardness.

We have been wondering ever since the season 2A finale if Karma is subconsciously having some feelings, and with that, let’s wrap up this preview article with a question: What if Karma wants to go to prom with Amy on some level, but is not processing it completely just yet? We’re not ruling it out.
