‘American Horror Story: Hotel’: Lady Gaga gushes about new series at premiere

The premiere party of “American Horror Story: Hotel” took place over the weekend in Los Angeles, and this was an opportunity for a select few to see just how the Ryan Murphy series started out. For all in attendance, we imagine that this was a cool opportunity to get a sense as to where we are going. These shows have a reputation for being stuffed full of twists, and they also tend to get off to really strong starts. Is it true that they sometimes start to lose their luster overtime? Sure, but there is always a chance that this season is the one that starts to turn things around in a truly great direction.

One of the reasons for the rampant excitement this time is the presence of Lady Gaga for the first time as a regular; not only that, but she is even being billed as the star of the show! Her character of the Countess Elizabeth is the owner of the Hotel Cortez, and she has a habit for drinking blood. She’s not a vampire exactly, but there is a certain illness that haunts her n its own way.

In speaking about getting a chance to play this part on the show to the Associated Press, Gaga had nothing but very positive things to say:

“It’s been so fun … Everybody on this cast has been really open and available to me in a very honest way, so I’m able to be myself in a way I feel like I haven’t been in a really long time, so they are just making me feel so alive.”
