‘The X Factor’ UK: 4th Power, Alien, Anton Stephans, BEKLN set for Six-Chair Challenge

X FactorOn Friday, we wrote an article that was all about predicting the advancing artists on “The X Factor’s” upcoming Six-Chair Challenge for Nick Grimshaw’s Boys and Rita Ora’s Girls. Today, we’re back to take on the final two categories in the Overs and the Groups.

While there are a ton of acts competing for limited spots in the Judges’ Houses stage, we don’t actually think that the competition is that difficult to predict. There are around three or four performers who are locks in both categories, and the folks that are added to each may just be filler for the next round. We feel like at this point, the edit is influencing us heavily as to who we’re going to be seeing in the live shows. Producers obviously want us to get to know their stories, that way we have some people to clearly root for.

The Groups (Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini)

The lineup – Alien, BEKLN, Cam and Brett, Decibellas, 4th Power, Goe, Menn on Poinnt, Mon Amie, My Bad Sister, PYT, Rumour Has It, Ryder, Silver Tone, The First Kings, Tribe.

Our projection – Based on the amount of screen time we’ve seen from them, it feels like 4th Power, Alien, and Silver Tone are probably close to locks. (Provided, Silver Tone needs some more consistency than they’ve shown in the past.) We feel fairly confident in the First Kings and BEKLN as well, given that there has to be at least a couple of groups of guys to make it to the next round. Maybe the sixth spot goes to Menn on Poinnt just because they’re fun?

The Overs (Simon Cowell)

The lineup – Alex Boye, Anton Stephans, Bupsi, Ebru, Hannah Marie, Holly Johnson, Jennifer Phillips, Joseph McCaul, Kerrie-Ann Phillips, Lochei Kusi Ghent, Max Stone, Neneth Lyons, Sherilyn Hamilton-Shaw, Stephanie McCourt, Tonatha Raihan, Vicki Ann Nash, Zen Blythe.

Our projection – Wait, Zen Blythe is in the Overs? We assumed he was in the Boys. Regardless, we feel like Jennifer Phillips, Hannah Marie, and Anton Stephans are likely acts moving forward. Sherilyn Hamilton-Shaw had a big moment in the auditions, so we may as well add her in there as well. We like Zen, but both Joseph and Bupsi have received a lot more air time over the course of the season, and Simon has been a Joseph defender despite him at times coming across as very cheesy.
