‘The X Factor’ UK notes: News on Simon Cowell, Nick Grimshaw, and Louis Walsh

X Factor -Ready for the latest edition of “X Factor” notes? Rather than just give you some tiny headlines here and there, we thought it would be particularly fun today to consolidate many of the top stories happening in the world within a single post for your reading pleasure.

Nick Grimshaw’s guest at judges houses is … Mark Ronson. Just in case you really need to hear someone play “Uptown Funk” again, this is your opportunity to see just that! Per a report from the Express, this is going to be featured on the show. What we do like about the choice, however tired we may be of that song with Bruno Mars notwithstanding, is that Ronson is a producer. He’s not your typical musical adviser who is really just a singer, and doesn’t have that sort of behind-the-scenes insight to know how an artist can further along their career. So with these two, you’ve got a guy who has made radio-friendly hits and a guy who rules the radio itself in Britain.

Louis Walsh rumors – Yes, we’ve heard all of these, mostly thanks to the fact that Louis says that he is interested in returning. Pick up your jaw off the floor!

Here’s the thing here: Viewers want, or at least the press wants, what they cannot have. A few months ago people were dancing all over Louis’ “X Factor” grave, and commenting about how he has about five go-to phrases he repeats over and over again (“ready-made pop star” topping the list). Now, people are talking about getting him back! We actually like Louis for the most part, and felt that the primary problem was that nobody on the show, with Simon Cowell topping the list, was altogether willing to take him seriously. Simon ribs him like they are off having a pint somewhere, and forgets that he needs to empower the guy to inspire confidence from his acts.
