‘Bones’ season 11, episode 1 video: Emily Deschanel, Kim Raver talk key premiere story

Booth and Brennan 1When you’ve been on the air for as long as “Bones” has, one of the key questions that you have to start wondering to yourself is how you change the game. There may be something to be said for people continuing to want much of the same thing on a loop, but they at least want different variations or permutations. You cannot show them the same case time and time again and expect high-fives on the street.

What makes the season 11 premiere on Fox Thursday night exciting is that we know this is not something that you have seen before on the show in other forms. First of all, Booth is missing! He was already not at his typical job thanks to the events of the season 10 finale, but thanks to a case that is near and dear to his heart, he vanishes and it is up to Aubrey and a new FBI agent played by Kim Raver to find him. The trouble here? In the eyes of one of them at least, Booth could be a suspect in a murder.

In the video below, you can hear Raver talk about this part, plus make a few jokes about how Jack Bauer taught her everything she knows. (We miss “24” already…) Emily Deschanel, meanwhile, states strongly that the show has not lost its step, and that there are many fun developments that you will see over the course of the hour. The dynamic between Brennan and Raver’s character is only the tip of the iceberg for some of the craziness to come.

We’re always going to be a fan of “Bones,” and are thrilled to follow along this story as long as it lasts; and no, we’re not going to set a record by speculating before the premiere as to whether or not this could be the last season.
