‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ video: Max Greenfield awaits under the bed

The premiere of “American Horror Story: Hotel” is one week away, and that means that FX is starting to get past their traditional window of airing a ton of weird promos rather than something that is connected to the actual show in some way.

What we like about the new promo (via E! News) is that it genuinely feels like a real moment from the show, in particular the part where Max Greenfield, seemingly with his throat cut, is hiding underneath a bed. We’ve already heard that Greenfield is going to get to do some of the most messed-up stuff in the history of the show, which is really saying something given what we had with Zachary Quinto in season 2 or really anything with Rubber Man in “Murder House.” This is certainly not the loft from “New Girl” anymore!

Greenfield is of course one of about two million great people who will be a part of this season. The main players include Lady Gaga, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Finn Wittrock, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Angela Bassett, and many more; specifically, Lily Rabe is going to be returning for a particularly chilling episode to air around Halloween, and so will “Glee” Darren Criss, making his first appearance on this show.

Given Max’s other full-time gig, we don’t imagine that he is going to get a chance to experience the Hotel Cortez for the full season. Then again, he will probably have so much insanity for however long he is around that he may not feel like he needs anymore.
