‘Dancing with the Stars 21’: Petition gains traction to bring Kim Zolciak back

Kim Zolciak -

Do we get it that there is some dissatisfaction with the way that Kim Zolciak was eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars” this week? Definitely. She didn’t ask to have mini-strokes that sent her to the hospital, or that she would not be cleared to travel before Monday night’s new episode. Hopefully, that simple fact shuts up some of you conspiracy nuts thinking that this is all for attention. She was cleared to dance, and she also had shown some signs of improvement after an extremely rough first week on the job.

It is thanks to all of this that Kim (and many of her fans) are supporting a new petition to get her back onto the show in some way. It has more than 20,000 signatures on it, so this is not just one of those fly-by-night ones that a fan starts that really amount to nothing. This is at least large enough to garner attention, both from Us the Press (to turn us into a collective) and also potentially ABC.

We love the fact that Kim has the guts and the passion to still be fighting for this, mostly because we feel like some other Stars would have just taken their lumps at this point and moved on. However, at the same exact time we still don’t think that this will get her anywhere. The rules are obviously set before the season, and while we like to imagine in our head that the other celebrities are all well aware of how ridiculous this show is, some are competitive and take it seriously. This is a chance for them to use it as a launching pad to another career, and if there is a chance that someone could be brought back and stay over them, they won’t be thrilled. The rules are the rules, and the show may have a better chance (if they even want) to change them during the off-season.

We’ve said it a few times now, and it is still a worth consolation prize: Hopefully Kim gets to return for the finale, and maybe perform the dance that she was not able to do earlier this week.
