‘Orphan Black’ season 4 spoilers: First details tease difficult journey for Tatiana Maslany, cast

“Orphan Black” is not going to be premiering on BBC America until the spring, but this is clearly not stopping the network from releasing what are some of the first official details of the story ahead.

The synopsis below was released earlier today, and it’s clear that despite some of the wonderful camaraderie we could be seeing at times between the various clones played by Tatiana Maslany, a dangerous new direction for Sarah could jeopardize just about everything:

“Season 4 of the drama will see leader-of-the-pack, Sarah, reluctantly return home from her Icelandic hideout to track down an elusive and mysterious ally tied to the clone who started it all — Beth Childs. Sarah will follow Beth’s footsteps into a dangerous relationship with a potent new enemy, heading in a horrifying new direction. Under constant pressure to protect the sisterhood and keep everyone safe, Sarah’s old habits begin to resurface. As the close-knit sisters are pulled in disparate directions, Sarah finds herself estranged from the loving relationships that changed her for the better.”

They say that sometimes, you have to be broken down in order to be build back up, and maybe that is the situation we are in leading into the fourth season of “Orphan Black”. If nothing else, this is what we’re hoping for; the idea of seeing the clones not together in some sort of happy relationship at the end of the season is something that we don’t really want to think about. There is still a long wait until the show returns, but just know that we are going to keep bringing you all the scoop until then.
