‘Mistresses’ season 4 speculation: When will it premiere?

After weeks of waiting, on Friday ABC confirmed the news that plenty of people out there were waiting to hear: “Mistresses” is going to be coming back to ABC for a fourth season. Tremendous, no? This means more or less that we are finally going to get a chance to see more of the story for Joss, April, and Karen moving forward. As for Calista, we are just not sure.

What we wanted to do in this article, now that we know that the show is for-sure coming back, is speculate some about when it will be coming on the air. For season 3, things started off with a two-hour premiere entitled “Gone Girl” on June 18. That is at least a possible indicator of when we could be starting up again, right? Maybe. The difference here is that we have fourteen episodes as opposed to thirteen for season 3, so we foresee the series starting at least one week earlier, if not two if they want to have a one-hour premiere this time as compared to a two-hour one.

If we were to hand out a personal preference, we actually much prefer shows that get off to a one-hour start, since it is psychologically very different to ask people to watch two hours of television right out of the gate. This is especially true in the summer, when there are around a million or so things that people could be doing outside. Watching TV is not always top priority.
