‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 6 spoilers: Show boss teases awkward situations ahead with Steve, Catherine

If you are one of the “Hawaii Five-0” fans out there who have been rooting hard to see Steve and Catherine find a way to make things work, we have some news for you. Unfortunately, it may not be of the “great” variety.

Basically, what we are going to be seeing unfold on the upcoming few episodes (starting on Friday) is a story that is about seeing whether or not these two can get on the same page, and if they don’t, just what happens as a result of that. Do they move forward, or do they try to find a different way to make things work? It’s hard to be that optimistic about their future at the moment, based mostly on the new comments that we have courtesy of executive producer Peter M. Lenkov to TVLine:

“We play that uncertainty in the first couple episodes. There’s a big change that’s going to happen in their relationship, which really shifted at the end of the previous season, when she left [to stay in Afghanistan]. It’s hard to get things back on track as much as they both want to, because she did make that choice — and we’re going to see her make another choice that’s going to come up early in the season as well.”

It’s possible that even if Catherine does depart again, Steve could find love again somewhere else; ultimately, we have been invested with this particular character for so long now that the show should really find a way to secure some happiness for him before it all ends.
