‘Dancing with the Stars 21’ spotlight: Will Kim Zolciak, Tony Dovolani make a big splash?
We are concluding our “Dancing with the Stars 21” spotlight series today with someone who certainly knows a thing or two about being a big name in the realm of reality TV in Kim Zolciak. She’s been the subject of many headlines on Bravo, but is there any direct correlation between being on that network and success here? Not exactly…
As we are about to detail in the spotlight article below, really the challenge for Kim this season is going to be finding a way to get some new fans on board this season, and then impressing them with the wide array of things that she is able to do in the ballroom.
Name – Kim Zolciak-Biermann
Age – 37
Claim to fame – Former star of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” alongside recent “Dancing with the Stars” contestant NeNe Leakes, who she has a complicated history with. They were friends, then enemies, and then ultimately friends again. She now has a solo show on Bravo entitled “Don’t Be Tardy…” (named after her song “Don’t Be Tardy for the Party”) that features husband Kroy Biermann.
Partner – Tony Dovolani. Tony danced with NeNe, and it’s possible that he already knew or at least was familiar with Kim going into this. She may have even asked for him. Tony is the show’s longest-tenured pro, having done it every season since the second one. He won with another reality star in Melissa Rycroft.
Strengths – Given that she did have that famous song, shouldn’t Kim have a little bit of rhythm? She’s someone who comes on this show with a knowledge of how to entertain people, and has a pretty broad reach on social media. Also, we like to think that many within the Bravo family are supportive of one another.
Weaknesses – Other than Bravo fans, though, is anyone going to be in her corner? We feel like much like the former stars of “The Hills” struggled to get votes on the show, it could be tough for Kim as well. Lisa Vanderpump was an early exit during her season, and NeNe (arguably the most famous Housewife of them all) only managed to get 7th.
Prediction – We just cannot see Kim making it too deep in the season, which is sad for Tony since “All-Stars” was the last time he was in the finals. She’ll probably be fun to watch, but typically stars of reality franchises really have a hard time breaking through to the finale.
