‘Shark Tank’ revisited: Red Dress Boutique, Sun-Staches, the Caddie Girls, and Jungle Jumparoo

Shark Tank -We were a little bit surprised that there is a new episode of “Shark Tank” airing on Monday night, just because it seemed like a natural fit to make the finale of “Bachelor in Paradise” two hours. After all, why not?

Yet, in honor of Labor Day, we’re focusing on many businesses in this episode, which actually aired a while ago in 2014. These businesses have had plenty of time to grow since their first appearances on the show, and some of them have been featured on the show since.

Jungle Jumparoo – Safety for this kids’ play device was always one of the big concerns, but since the show first aired it has gotten some exposure on some other TV programs, has a slick website, and seems to be going very well. If nothing else, the appearance on the show has gotten more product out there.

The Caddie Girls – Yes, this business is exceptionally gimmicky, but we really are not going to argue with the fact that since the show they have expanded their business to a variety of other major cities and it seems to be going strong. They make sure the women that they hire are all knowledgeable at golf, and while it’s not exactly our cup of tea as far as a business goes, it’s hard to deny that there’s a big market for men who want a specific type of golf caddy. There’s already similar things out there in restaurants and even barber shops.

Red Dress Boutique – We know that they are doing very well thanks to a feature on “Beyond the Tank.” What’s really remarkable to us is that they’ve figured out a way to do this even in spite of the fact that they are a clothing line, one of the hardest businesses to become successful as a result of the show. These can be so fly-by-night, but it is the products themselves that get the repeat customers more so than the show.

Sun-Staches – Yes, this is an incredibly cheesy product, but it is one that has generated huge profits since the show and been featured since. What they’ve done that is so smart is licensed many other popular characters, whether it be Minions or superhero characters.
