‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 spoilers: More Ward is on the way!

Ward -For much of season 2, Grant Ward was a little all over the place on “Agents of SHIELD.” Much of that was simply due to the fact that the character was in a state of flux, and they were preparing for what is now going to be a much more important season for the character. This is what happens when you have the guy leading up the charge over at Hydra.

While at Wizard World Comic-Con recently in San Jose, Brett Dalton told Comic Vine a little bit about what you can expect to see from the character, and that includes simply getting to see so much more of him tahn you have as of late:

“You will see more of me in Season Three than you did in Season Two. I’m the main baddie now. I don’t think you’ll see me every week, but you’ll definitely see me more than you did in Season Two. I’m looking forward to that. We shot some. We’re about four episodes in. The stuff that they are writing for me, and for the show…the stuff they’re writing for the show is epic and I feel like any one of our first couple of episodes could be a season finale. It’s crazy. I don’t even know how we’re going to shoot all this stuff. What they’re writing for me, in particular, I think is some of the coolest stuff I’ve been able to do on the show.”

Obviously, what is cool for Dalton is probably going to be great for us, mostly since it offers up a chance to see some different surprises here and there and also some stakes. It is always so much more rewarding to us as a viewer to have a villain we’ve become invested in, and not so much one that just pops up overnight.

The new season of “Agents of SHIELD” premieres on ABC come Saturday, September 29.
