‘Elementary’ season 4 spoilers: John Noble’s getting company as Sherlock’s father

ElementaryFor a show that is coming out this fall, things have been most quiet on the “Elementary” part. Maybe a part of this is because the show will not premiere until after Thursday Night Football ends on CBS, or maybe the show has just found a pretty creative way to keep spoilers from getting out.

Luckily, we do at least have something new to share today. According to TVLine, former “Bones” and “24” actress Shohreh Aghdashloo is being brought on for a role that will be tied to John Noble’s character, who is the mysterious and successful father to Sherlock Holmes. Her name is Donya Esfandiari, and she is involved in the international hotel business. She has at least some sort of business relationship with Sherlock’s dad, but how she factors into the world of Jonny Lee Miller’s character remains to be seen.

We are happy to see Aghdashloo on this show in this role, especially since we are more than curious to see how she factors into a character who will be essential to the story. It is a long time coming for us to see some of Sherlock’s family, and it will tell us so much more about who he is, and why he has become the person that he has over time.

Hopefully, this casting is one of many that we get over the coming weeks. We’re still hoping that at some point, Natalie Dormer will come back as Moriarty. We want to see it, and feel like she would want to come back if she has the room in her schedule.
