‘The Originals’ season 3 spoilers: Prepare to go far back in time

When the new season of “The Originals” premieres on The CW, there are a wide array of things that you can expect. For example, flashbacks! However, the twist this time around is that you may be seeing some of the most extreme flashbacks that we’ve had on the show to date. We’ve gone far back in time before, but based on what executive producer Julie Plec tells Entertainment Weekly, these will really let you see the early days of Klaus, Elijah, and many other characters:

“We have a whole series of flashbacks over the first chapter that tell the story of the Originals’ first year as vampires before the word ‘vampire’ had even been assigned to them, and them learning what they were capable of, where they could fit in, how they could adopt the manners of a rich and cultured family even though they were tattered Vikings on the run … Within those flashbacks, we see the origin story of each of The Trinity, and we understand why The Trinity themselves might have reason to be a little pissed off at our hero family.”

We are certainly a fan of any story that is going to allow us to get a better sense as to who some of these characters are, and it’s also a chance to see many of the original actors back on the show as well, including Claire Holt (Rebekah) and Nathaniel Buzolic (Kol).
