‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: Possibly Ben Higgins reveal coming during ‘After Paradise’
Despite all of the reports that are out there about Ben Higgins being the next star of “The Bachelor,” what we are getting a sense of at the moment is that ABC is not particularly willing to tip their hand just yet.
Earlier today, executive producer / show creator Mike Fleiss claimed on Twitter that while producers know who they want for the role, the network has not formally signed off on it yet. We know that we all like to be cynical and claim that production is playing with us, but we do buy this. It does take a while sometimes for networks to approve things, but we do feel pretty strongly that this will be something mutually agreed upon. There’s no real other serious candidate other than Ben. Sure, Nick Viall has had a little buzz, but he’s far too polarizing and we imagine that all parties involved want someone that fans of the show will get behind easily.
Fleiss went on to announce today (see below) that the recipient of the title of Bachelor will be officially unveiled a little bit bit later this summer on an upcoming “After Paradise” episode, which is a heck of a smart move. What better way is there to convince people to watch that aftershow? We also of course wonder if this is an incentive to see if they can boost the ratings of that show, and maybe find a way to run it after editions of the flagship “Bachelor” in January.
We’ll have more here as it becomes available, so stay tuned!
