‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: Clay and Shelli’s late-night push to James

Shelli -Once again, we have to at least give Clay and Shelli some credit on “Big Brother 17” for fighting. They made a variety of different moves last night to try to save themselves, but they potentially did not make the right one. Maybe it is not as obvious on the inside that it is to all of us watching around at home.

Let’s backtrack a little. They spoke at various points to James about nominating Steve, but after realizing that this was not going to work (smartly), they then switched to trying to get Austin nominated, telling James about the whole Judas thing and trying to make him appear untrustworthy and not the sort of person you want to keep around. At some various points Meg and Jackie were around to hear the pitches, and they at least made sure to hear Clelli out about their pitch to stay in the game.

Now, let’s talk about the glaring flaw in the plan: Vanessa. Clay and Shelli should have been throwing Vanessa under the bus, and making her appear like the person who is playing all sides. Instead, Shelli was telling James about how wonderful a person she is to work with, which should have been a pretty clear indicator to him that Vanessa has some loyalties everywhere … but we’re not sure he connected the dots. All we know is that Shelli refused to really push to get Vanessa nominated, and she is probably the only person who would be even better to get out than Clay or Shelli; she’s the glue of the Sixth Sense, and the best strategist of the bunch.

After Clay and Shelli left Jackie did push to get Vanessa put up as a replacement nominee, but for now James feels like making a move right now is too risky and he doesn’t want to break any more deals than the one he already made publicly. We get that at the moment, especially since if Vanessa wins Head of Household again, she may target Jackie before she targets James. It’s at least possible.
