‘Power’ season 2, episode 8 reaction: An arrest, a death, and complications for Ghost / Angela

Tonight’s episode of “Power” was set up as a series of stand-offs, and one where we would end up seeing our leading man Ghost forced into making some very tough decisions. After all, he had to figure out whether or not he would work with Lobos, and if he would fulfill one request that the gangster made: Remove Tommy from the equation at all costs.

Well, Tommy was removed from the equation by the time we got to the end of the episode … mostly thanks to a pair of handcuffs. While Angela struggled to decipher all of the information properly from Ghost’s phone after hacking into it last week, she got enough to figure out the site of a meet following a few fluctuations. Greg and the task force flew in there and got Lobos and Tommy both in handcuffs. Unfortunately for Lobos, he also lost a love in the process.

Still, Ghost managed to be enough of a step ahead that he was able to slip away into the darkness and keep the target fully on Tommy … at least for now. The question you have to wonder now is what happens with him following Lobos’ proposal to move him up in the operation. Is that deal firmly off the table now? What else could Ghost do to get into some good graces? This is obviously going to impact Kanan and his plans for the operation in a dramatic way, as well.

With all of the chaos going on with the phone, Angela, and Ghost tonight, Tasha took a little more of a backseat … but we imagine that this is only temporary. With nobody’s future at this point set in stone, the real purpose for this hour was changing the chess pieces, and then allowing for some chaos to rain down on the entire cast in the final two episodes.
