‘Hannibal’ season 3, episode 10 preview: Gillian Anderson returns; hopes for Hugh Dancy, cast

HannibalHannibal” Saturday night served up an episode that brought us closer to the transformation of Francis Dolarhyde, and what he believes is next for himself ultimately on his journey to “evolve.” What does this mean for the future of the show? Let’s just say that things are going to get even more chaotic now that he has figured out a way to be in contact with Hannibal Lecter. He is one of the only men out there who may understand him, and as a result of that these two could have a particularly fascinating dynamic.

Next week, we’re going to have an episode that could continue to push these relationships, and to us one of the more fascinating parts of the story could be the opportunity to see what Bedelia Du Maurier is now up to. Gillian Anderson has not had much of a presence over the past two episodes, but the synopsis below indicates that this will be changing:

“Carvings symbolizing the Great Red Dragon, retrieved from crime scenes, help Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and the FBI shed light on Francis Dolarhyde’s (guest star Richard Armitage) disturbing psychology. Meanwhile, Dolarhyde finds ways to communicate directly with Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) regarding his “becoming.” Will feels his bond with Hannibal growing uncomfortably stronger, and seeks out Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson), the only other person who fully understands the complexities of such a relationship.”

By the time we make it to the end of this episode we are going to get to the halfway point of the Red Dragon arc, and there is still so much story to tell! It is almost shocking just how quickly this is going.
