‘Big Brother 17’ live feed spoilers: Who won the Power of Veto this week?

BeckyThis is the first week of traditional “Big Brother” this season, or at least traditional “Big Brother” ever sense the Power of Veto Competition was introduced more than a decade ago. This was a huge one that would shape everything that happens in the house the next several days, including whether or not Clay or Shelli had a real opportunity to save themselves.

Now, we know that the simple answer is that they have no chance. James won the Veto, which means that he will almost surely not use it and ensure that his nominations stay the same. He defeated the nominees plus Jackie, Becky, and Vanessa in order to pull it off. (Yes, the Becky photo was a red herring.)

There is still obviously some time left for James to change his mind, given that the Power of Veto Ceremony is not until we get around to Monday and they could try to make arguments to backdoor either Vanessa or Austin. It’s just unlikely.

More information: There were rewards and punishments handed down as a result of what was a medieval-themed competition: Becky won $5,000, Clay has a trip to Ireland, and Shelli has to do some sort of sword routine every time an alarm sounds for 24 hours. If she does not complete it, she loses her chance to play in Veto next week. It’s similar to the soccer challenge that Brittany had last season in this way.

As for Vanessa, it sounds like she’s going to be shackled to someone. Given how much game she talks, this could be interesting… (Scratch that, it sounds more like she has to take care of Jackie for 24 hours, who has some sort of costume she may be getting.)

Surprised by James’ win? Happy? Either way, we want to hear your thoughts on the matter below! You can also head over here to get some more “Big Brother” news, and sign up here to get some further TV scoop on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: CBS.)
