‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 2, episode 10 (finale) preview: Cameron wants to ‘change the music’

Oh, the struggles of a small-business owner. This is something that Cameron is realizing on Sunday’s “Halt and Catch Fire” finale, and the sneak peek below makes it pretty clear just what sort of problem she is facing now with Mutiny: As they grow, more and more people want to take their own share of the success.

Donna informs her that their network is starting to charge more and more money for their services, mostly because Mutiny is doing well and of course they want more as a result. What’s Cameron’s response? She doesn’t want to do the dance; she wants to “change the music.” (Ironically, this is the 1980s Texas version of Dany’s “I want to break the wheel” speech from this past season of “Game of Thrones.”) She wants to figure out a way to get a separate network going in order to ensure that some of the costs are down more in the long-term.

This is all well and good, but here is the issue that goes with that: Finding someone willing to actually help fund them. There’s no way Mutiny has the money directly to make something like this happen, and they’re going to need some help. Do you roll the dice on a guy like Joe, who is reeling from throwing Jacob Wheeler under the bus and potentially losing Sara for good? Or, can you find a way to work with Bosworth despite his apparent resignation?

There are many issues that “Halt and Catch Fire” needs to address in the finale, and as we mentioned yesterday, there is no guarantee that there will be any more of the show after this. With that in mind, we really do have to assume the worst as to if this could be the last episode.
