‘The Blacklist’ season 3 spoilers: More on Liz Keen’s past, a new villain

The Blacklist logo any seasonFilming for the third season of “The Blacklist” is underway, and this means that soon enough, we are going to see a variety of different stories and characters turn up. Given that this is a series that is for the most part famous for its villains, should you be surprised that there is another cool one entering the picture? You really shouldn’t be.

Let’s start this article with what executive producer John Eisendrath said to TV Guide about a certain someone who is going to come into the lives of Liz Keen and Reddington, and in the process could cause both them and any of their potential loved ones trouble:

“There’s a character named Mr. Solomon who is going to be entering the landscape and is not friendly in any way to Liz or Red or the people they care about.”

Fellow exec Jon Bokenkamp confirms in here that in this role is going to be played by Edi Gathegi, who has appeared in “Twilight,” “Proof,” and a variety of other movies / shows over the years.

On a different note, Bokenkamp also goes through a little bit of scoop about how the third season will give us more of an understanding as to Liz’s life, and how some of her own history helps to inform who she is now:

“We are going to see glimpses of a criminal past that we’ve hinted at before … In the pilot, Red said, ‘Think like a criminal. It may come easier to you than you think.’ We’re going to see whispers of her past and how that sort of thinking may be useful in some of these desperate situations.”
