HBO boss still wants more ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’

HBOYou really cannot be too surprised by the bit of news coming out of HBO at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour today: Of course, the network wants more “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” There has long been an arrangement between the network where it is up to Larry David if or when he wants to return, and they will give him the tools necessary to create more great content at that time.

HBO head Michael Lombardo made it clear today that David has at least discussed ideas for more of the show in the past, and he doesn’t think “it’s out of his system.” He then went on to add the following:

“When he has something to say, he will come back. I certainly see this as a continuing dialogue with him, a long one, but a continuing one.”

At the moment, we feel like the odds here are completely a toss-up. David has been busy as of late doing a lot of theater work, but the show continues to be beloved, and we feel like he may come up with a pretty fun idea for it in due time. The best thing that HBO can do here is offer him some patience. Like many other actors / creators out there, the last thing you want to do at this point is put them in a position where their creativity is compromised by having to follow along a beaten path of what is expected of them.

As soon as there is more news, you better believe we will have it for you here.
