‘Big Brother 17’ review: An eviction, endurance Head of Household, and the Battle of the Block’s end

James -Tonight’s “Big Brother” episode started with what we feel is glorious news: The Battle of the Block seems to be over! We say that for now since we have our first solo Head of Household Competition of the season. Maybe we go back to that down the road, but let’s hope not. We’ve also learned that the HoH competition tonight is endurance, which means we’re going to be around the remainder of the night with more coverage of what is transpiring on the live feeds.

We’re going to be around to give some live impressions on the episode throughout the next hour, so be sure to check back soon for more!

After Veto – The show did a good job of showing some of the tension between Vanessa and Shelli / Clay, as Clay tried to hide whether or not they were behind the decision to backdoor Jason. The segment was really more about that than whether or not James had a chance, mostly because he doesn’t and he did not start much campaigning hardcore until Wednesday.

After the second commercial break, things started to change a little bit. We saw more of his pitch to Clay and Shelli, and while we think he and Meg could have done more with Johnny Mac and Steve, it probably wouldn’t have made a difference.

Johnny Mac segment – Pure fun here for the most part, as we were reminding that John is of course very professional at work. This was short as far as a family segment goes, but fun.

Eviction – What was crazier: Jason’s interview with Julie Chen, him possibly swearing on the way out the door on live TV (did he say “farts”?), or Shelli stealing the shoutout mantel from Clay? Jason’s going to be just fine after the show. He’s very popular and we feel like the show gave him a really good edit going out the door.

Twin Twist “reveal” – Since there was really no drama anymore in whether or not there was a twin twist, the show managed to still create some by not telling Julia until today that she was entering the game with her sister. Nobody in the audience seemed that impressed.

Endurance – We’re going to be updating this one over here.
