‘Supergirl’ spoilers: ‘The 100’ alum cast as Reactron

Just last week, we brought you the news that “Supergirl” was looking to add the famed villain of Reactron to its roster of bad guys coming up for the first season of the show and now we know who is set to play the part!

As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, Chris Browning of “The 100” and “Sons of Anarchy” is going to play the show’s version of the comic-book villain, who will be a man sporting a suit powered by nuclear energy. Thanks to that, he is literally combustible and capable of causing mass damage to an entire city. He will be the villain for the third episode of the show, and given that there is potential for him to recur, you can probably draw the conclusion that there is a good chance that he survives.

For the most part, the impression that we get of the early portion of “Supergirl” season 1 is that it is following almost perfectly the formula established by “Arrow” and “The Flash,” where the show will premiere with a series of episodes that are a little more procedural in nature to give fans a chance to get to know our leading lady better, but then over time build towards a Big Bad who starts to surface around the midway point and takes us through to the end of the season. We tend to get frustrated with these shows a few episodes in sometimes because we feel that they could spend these first few episodes developing the main bad guy as well as our heroes to lead us to a bigger showdown at the end.

Of course, the biggest question mark here is the presence of CBS. Given that they are as a network known mostly for crime procedurals and not necessarily long-form stories, are they going to enforce a particular ideology onto this series or will they give us a meaty bad guy that follows throughout the majority of the series?

Let us know right now what you want to see from this particular “Supergirl” character.
