‘Mistresses’ season 3, episode 8 video: Calista throws Joss to the wolves

Joss and Luca -Let this be a lesson out there to everyone thinking about working with their best friend to expose a cheating husband (hopefully this isn’t happening to many of you out there): This is probably not a good idea.

We’re here today with a preview for next week’s new “Mistresses” episode “Murder She Wrote,” which could very easily be retitled “the story of how Joss and Calista’s friendship falls apart.” It is not too hard to figure out why. After Luca is found dead, Calista goes into complete survival mode, realizes that she has a motive to dispatch her husband, and therefore proceeds to throw her friend Joss completely under the bus … making her really no longer worthy of the “friend” title. As the promo indicates, her specific strategy is to try and feign complete ignorance about what is going on in terms of the plan to expose Luca’s cheating ways.

Whether or not this works is to be seen, and the same goes for whether or not there is any walking back on what Calista does here. The tricky thing is that Jennifer Esposito is technically a series regular, and unless she signed some sort of one-year deal for an arc that has a definite end, we would presume that she is signing up for multiple seasons of the show. We cannot see April or Karen being too keen to hang out with someone who screwed over Joss, and obviously this is not something that Joss would be particularly keen on doing, either.

This episode will hopefully present at least some other suspects. Personally, we’re still looking very much at Eva. We already don’t like her, so having her be responsible for the deed seems to be an easy way to tie this story up.
