‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Michael Ironside to guest, Peyton List to return

For one of its earliest season 2 episodes, “The Flash” is looking to make things even more of a family affair. Specifically, we are talking in terms of giving us even more of the family for a certain Captain Cold!

Sources confirm that Michael Ironside has been cast to appear as Lewis Snart, the father of Leonard (Wentworth Miller) and Lisa (Peyton List) who helps to explain why it was so easy for his children to descend into a life of crime. This is not a good guy in any stretch of the imagination. He is ruthless, and he could end up doing something to hurt his children either physically or emotionally after becoming released from prison on the upcoming third episode of the season, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Since it would not be a Snart family reunion without her, we’re also hearing that List will return for this episode, as well. She has only appeared briefly on the show so far as the woman with the golden gun, otherwise known as the Golden Glider. We’re still hoping that she eventually develops powers a little more akin to the comic series.

One of the big takeaways right now from Ironside’s casting should just be that “The Flash” is going to be capable of drawing big talent to their series now that it has proven to be more than just a commercially-successful superhero show. It’s thoroughly entertaining and one of the best things going on TV right now. It’s poignant, fun, and action-packed all at the same time.
