‘Supergirl’ star Melissa Benoist secretly married fellow ‘Glee’ alum Blake Jenner

Melissa Benoist is going to be getting closer to becoming a household name this fall thanks to her participation in CBS’ “Supergirl” series, and with that of course comes a variety of new headlines on her personal life … including this one. Per a report from Us Weekly, the actress secretly married her fiance of more than a year in Blake Jenner earlier this spring, following the conclusion of the “Supergirl” pilot filming. These two have for the most part been extremely quiet about their relationship, even though the two started as co-workers on the Fox series “Glee.” Jenner won season 2 of “The Glee Project,” and that is what allowed him to be a part of Benoist’s world in the first place.

This has been a very busy month so far for Melissa, and this is about to become in many ways her new normal. “Supergirl” is going to be spending some time in production, and in addition to just wrapping up her appearance at Comic-Con in San Diego, you know that CBS is going to really promote her heavily at their part of the TCA Summer Press tour. Add to that other various interviews, and she may have trouble breathing (at least metaphorically) for a few weeks in there. We’ve hard from many other first-time TV stars that this can all be rather overwhelming.

“Supergirl” will premiere on CBS come Monday, October 26 at a special time in 8:30 p.m. Eastern. Following that, it will air in future weeks at 8:00.
