Why Rita Ora left ‘The Voice’ UK for ‘The X Factor’

Rita -At a certain point this spring, we did very much expect to see Rita Ora remain on “The Voice” UK over “The X Factor.” In general, that seems to be the easier gig. You can film all of the blind auditions over the span of just a handful of days, and the you just need to come back for some other challenges here and there plus a few live shows in the end. There’s also no traveling to various parts of Britain for the auditions.

Yet, Rita did eventually decide to jump ship, and she is not saying that it is because of money or even because of some supposed friendship that she has with fellow new judge Nick Grimshaw. Rather, she said (per The Mirror) that much of it is merely a matter of Simon Cowell’s show being a better fit for what she wants to do moving forward:

“It’s nothing to do with any of the coaches personally. I love them all. But it’s definitely something to fit in with my timetable and my schedule … That experience I had with The Voice is surreal.”

Rita is going to be on paper a great addition to “The X Factor,” mostly because we saw time and time again on “The Voice” that she had an entertaining presence and that she seemed to very much care for the contestants. While we imagine she will be missed on the BBC series, the show must go on and we’re pretty sure that the producers over there are well aware of that. They will be able to find someone else for her spot in due time.
