‘The Flash’ spoilers: Meet a newcomer named Olivia

“The Flash” is gearing up for production on its second season, and one thing we are starting to figure out right away is that we are going to be meeting a ton of new characters! You already have a new officer on the force named Wendy, and to go along with that there is some sort of still-mysterious Big Bad that is coming pretty early on in the season.

To go along with all of this, let’s go ahead and present to you Olivia. According to TVLine, the series is looking to cast an African-American woman in her forties to play the part of someone who has a longtime friendship with Joe West, though the present state of their relationship is unknown. She has had a difficult past, so maybe he can be there for her? If nothing else, maybe there is a certain degree of a chance that she will end up becoming a new love interest in some shape or form.

One other opportunity that we hope that the series takes advantage of in the second season is giving us a chance to show us more of Joe’s past. To date, we really do not know much when it comes to his relationship history, Iris’ mother, or also if he really has any friends at all other than at the police force.

The new season of “The Flash” will premiere on Tuesday, October 6, and should help to kick off the entire fall season on The CW.
