‘Longmire’ season 4 filming wrapping up; waiting for premiere begins

Longmire -We knew that the end of “Longmire” season 4 filming was near, and come late Tuesday, it all seemed to be coming to a close in New Mexico … at least for the time being. Star Lou Diamond Phillips (a.k.a. Henry Standing Bear) is one of many to discuss saying farewell to the filming location, and you can see his messages via Twitter below.

Obviously, one key thing in his messages to point out is that he is not preparing to say goodbye to the series as a whole … just this season. While “Longmire” has not been renewed for a season 5 yet and its fate is somewhat up in the air, the intention obviously for some of the cast is for it to return. Whether or not it will will depend heavily on what Netflix sees out of the series in terms of their oh-so-mysterious numbers. The service is not particularly good on releasing data, so we are left for the most part on the outside in trying to figure out just how they chart so many of their successes.

For the time being, let’s just be happy that we get a season 4! There were some dark days back when A&E canceled the show last year.

Story-wise, there is really not too much known about what the series has planned, but the move to Netflix should allow them to tell a little more in the way of a long-form story, and to also play around a little more in terms of episode lengths. We imagine that it will have many of the same things you always loved about the show, but a few new interesting twists and wrinkles, as well.
